This duo of American coffee artists have been painting with coffee for several years. Together, they developed coffee painting processes and techniques. At first, they were confused when they took part in their first art show at a coffee shop in Duluth, Minnesota.
Angel and Andrew wanted to come up with something unique and creative. Since their performance would take place in a coffee shop, they thought of using only coffee as painting material.
After trying several techniques, such as using coffee beans to sketch and making pastels from coffee grounds, they finally decided to use coffee as watercolor.

Plata is a Filipino artist who has been painting since 2007. She was originally a school teacher, but quit because she wanted to focus on art.

Hong Yi, a Malaysian painter, first caught the public’s attention with two of her paintings, a portrait of Yao Ming (NBA basketball player) painted with a basketball, and a portrait of Ai Wei Wei (Chinese contemporary artist) painted with sunflower seeds.
His phenomenal painting, a portrait of Jay Chou (Taiwanese actor), was painted with coffee. Uniquely, he does not use a brush as a painting tool, but a cup. He soaks the bottom of the cup with coffee, and then sticks it to the canvas.
